Liguria is a coastal area of north-western Italy, the third smallest of the Italian regions. Its capital is Genoa. Liguria borders France to the west, Piedmont to the north, and Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany to the east. It lies on the Ligurian Sea. The coastal strip where Liguria is located forms the Italian Riviera. Further inland are the Ligurian Alps on the west and the Ligurian Apennines on the east.
To the south of Liguria is the Region of Abruzzo which contains four pronvinces. In the province of Teramo is the town of Valle San Giovanni, home of Casale.
